Regional Economic Development Strategy Open Houses
The Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) and the Addison County Regional Planning Commission (ACRPC) will host two open houses in October to gather public feedback on the Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS). The REDS is an Addison County-specific supplement to the West Central Vermont Economic Development Strategy, which was adopted in 2023 to guide economic development in Addison, Chittenden, Rutland, Washington, and Orange counties. The REDS will serve as the updated Economy chapter in the ACRPC's Regional Plan while simultaneously guiding the work of the ACEDC.
Members of the public are encouraged to review the draft plan HERE and to attend one or both of the following Open Houses to share feedback and ask questions:
Thursday, October 16th from 10:00 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Vergennes Fire Department, 50 N. Green Street, Vergennes.
- Tuesday, October 21st from 3:30 -5:30 at ACRPC offices, 14 Seminary Street, Middlebury.
ACEDC and ACRPC staff will be on-hand at both Open Houses along with members of the REDS steering committee.
For community members unable to attend an Open House, the following office hours are available:
Adam Lougee, ACRPC Executive Director, will hold office hours every Monday in October from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at ACRPC offices, 14 Seminary Street, Middlebury, or by appointment by emailing alougee@acrpc.org.
Alex Armani-Munn, ACEDC Executive Director, will hold office hours every Friday in October 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at ACEDC offices, 1590 Route 7 South, Suite 8, Middlebury, or by appointment by emailing aarmani-munn@addisoncountyedc.org
ACEDC and ACRPC staff will incorporate public feedback into a final draft of the plan that will be completed by December 2025 before adoption in early 2026.
