THE VERGENNES OPERA HOUSE is located on the second floor of Vergennes’ City Hall on Main Street and is managed by the non-profit group, The Friends of the Vergennes Opera House (FVOH), a 100% volunteer organization with members dedicated to keeping the arts and community alive and thriving in the Little City.


Besides producing and presenting several performances each year, the historic theater is available to rent for special events, weddings, child and adult classes, and corporate meetings. The theater has tables and comfortable chairs, a 12 x 9 ft rear and front projection screen and projector, a basic sound system, and theatrical lighting. Note: The Opera House is currently under construction and unable to host events until May 2026. The All Access Project will create an exterior elevator tower to the second floor theater space; a three level interior lift from the dressing room, with ADA restroom, to auditorium and up to the stage, and; a courtyard walkway to the elevator entrance and first floor city offices resulting in a building that is 100% accessible for all, audience and performers alike.
