ACEDC Summer Internship
Title: Economic Development Intern
Reporting to: Projects & Grants Manager, Camille Lyons
Oversight: Executive Director, Alex Armani-Munn
Timeline: June 1, 2025 – August 15, 2025 (flexible)
Hours: 15-35 per week, $15-18/hour, onsite (opportunity for remote work)
Organization Description:
Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) is a non-profit regional economic development organization serving Addison County, Vermont. Our mission is to create an entrepreneurial and innovative environment, nurturing businesses to launch, grow, and thrive.
ACEDC is dedicated to helping Addison County businesses from all backgrounds, at all stages, in all sectors, and all sizes, to grow and create good-paying jobs. We offer services to individual businesses, assist groups of businesses, and work with business associations. We also partner with local, regional, state, and federal partners to advance community and economic development in the County.
Position Description:
The Economic Development Intern will be enthusiastic about assisting the economic development of Addison County. You will be expected to actively engage in the work of the organization including, but not limited to: direct business assistance, engagement with the community, town consultation, funding research, legal advocacy, and regional data analysis.
The task list will consist primarily of long-term projects that correspond with ACEDC’s mission. While a project list is provided, we encourage you to bring your own background and interests into this role. We want your perspective to make this an enriching experience for everyone involved.
Projects:
- Community need investigation:
- Perform community outreach to uncover a community need or investigate a previously identified need. What is limiting business expansion? What tools do entrepreneurs lack? How can housing be incentivized?
- Member attraction/retention initiative:
- Help us grow essential revenue by engaging potential members and supporting retention of existing members. This could involve direct engagement, event planning & coordination, and membership improvements.
- Personal interest project:
- Complete a research project, writing piece, artistic expression, or any type of media to demonstrate what you have learned throughout the summer with us, or something you think our organization could gain from.
- Organization participation:
- Assist ACEDC in daily tasks like media publications, grant research, and data analysis.
