AllEarth Renewables, Inc. Announces Relocation of Headquarters to Addison County

BRISTOL, VT – January 25, 2024 – AllEarth Renewables, a prominent provider of sustainable solar energy solutions in Vermont, is excited to announce its upcoming relocation to a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Bristol. The decision to relocate stems from the company's growth and the resulting requirement for a more spacious, modern workplace to accommodate its growing team and meet the rising demand for solar energy solutions.

An anchor tenant of the Stoney Hill Business Park at 118 Firehouse Drive, the new facility will serve as AllEarth Renewables' headquarters. The move is scheduled to be completed by the end of the month, with the work required for a seamless transition well underway.
The new space is nestled behind the Bristol Firehouse and Firehouse Apartments affordable housing units, both of which David Blittersdorf played an influential role in the Stoney Hill Properties development with his business partner Kevin Harper. These buildings are a source of pride for the town, with a historic Vermont style and modern, energy positive design features.
Just as the Firehouse has become a local landmark, AllEarth’s new brightly-colored building serves as a rosy beacon, breathing fresh life into both the company and the Bristol community and fostering local economic growth.
The move signifies Blittersdorf’s legacy coming full circle, returning back to his roots. 42 years ago, the humble beginnings of NRG Systems came to life in a house on 44 North Street, marking the budding of Blittersdorf’s business career. From there, AllEarth Renewables emerged, shaping Blittersdorf’s remarkable journey.
The new Net Positive building features cutting-edge technology and environmentally-friendly design elements, aligning with AllEarth Renewables' commitment to sustainability across all aspects of its operations. Constructed to the highest green building standards, the facility will be powered, cooled and heated solely by solar electric energy. It features innovative air/water heat pumps for radiant floor heating and cooling, and cold climate heat pumps to manage humidity.
Rooftop solar panels will generate surplus energy, allowing the building to be 100% solar-powered.
The Bristol location was centered on the company’s values around low-carbon living. The building is fitted with end-of-trip facilities including lockers, a shower, and bike racks to encourage employees and visitors to travel sustainably to and from the office. Based on a recent staff survey, nearly half of employees own a bike and many own e-bikes, and are likely to consider biking or walking/running to work.
While the company promotes hybrid working, some staff are considering carpooling, using Park & Ride facilities, purchasing an electric vehicle, or taking public transport to the new office. A commuter bus that was subsidized during the NRG days will continue to serve commuters, providing a direct link to Hinesburg, Burlington, and Middlebury. For those who need to drive, there will be limited on-site parking with level 2 EV chargers available on site, as well as electric fleet vehicles available to staff for work-related travel.
The facility has been designed to LEAN manufacturing standards, allowing for greater efficiency of the production of its dual-axis AllEarth Solar Trackers. Featuring dedicated areas for electronic controller production, engineering and R&D, warehouse assembly, office space, and additional storage space, there is ample space for more employees as the business grows.
“We’ve designed to accommodate our future. Our goal is to bring more renewable energy to homeowners, farmers and businesses in Vermont. Our growth plans could take us to 40 or 50 employees,” Blittersdorf added. “And many of those employees will be from Addison County,” which includes its two latest new hires. The move was a collaborative effort in partnership with the local community. Local partners in the Bristol building project include Naylor and Breen Builders, Cushman Design Group, Heffernan Inspection & Repair Service, Sargent’s Welding & Crane Service, Red Line Repair, Vermont Eco-Floors, the Town of Bristol, and others, with financing provided by Northfield Savings Bank.
