HR related tasks include but are not limited to processing weekly payroll, maintaining accurate and confidential employee personnel files, manage benefits administration including auditing and processing monthly insurance invoices for payment, take ownership of office and breakroom supply ordering and other tasks that may be needed to support the HR Manager.
Finance related tasks include supporting processes such as audit preparation, processing transactions, general financial recordkeeping and reconciliation, and other tasks that may be needed to support the Finance department.

Payroll & Benefits Coordinator

Description:
The Payroll & Benefits Specialist plays a vital support role at Vermont Cider Company ensuring payroll processes are executed smoothly and accurately. This dynamic position also provides key administrative support for benefits and onboarding, ensuring all employee records are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with company policies and regulations. As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute behind the scenes to the seamless operation of our HR processes, supporting the foundation of our most important asset—our people.
This role is expected to be in the office five days a week, providing hands-on support to ensure seamless HR operations and contribute to the success of our growing organization.
Payroll Responsibilities:
Ensure the accurate and timely submission and processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions
Maintain and review payroll records to ensure compliance and accuracy
Process payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, pay rate changes, and adjustments
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll in a timely manner
Benefits Administration:
Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and other perks
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions, enrollment, and claims resolution. Assist with benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations, ensuring all updates are processed in a timely and accurate manner
Coordinate annual benefits open enrollment, including employee communication and system updates
Ensure compliance with benefits regulations such as COBRA, ACA, and ERISA
HR & General Administrative Support:
Ensure that all new hire documents are accurate and complete
Maintain employment records related to onboarding and benefits administration in the HRIS system, ensuring data integrity
Assists with planning and execution of special events such as organization-wide meetings, culture pillars, & holiday parties
Manage the company wellness program
Conduct regular audits of employee files and records to ensure compliance and accuracy
Serve as the primary contact for office and breakroom supply orders

Requirements:

Material Handler

Description:
Vermont Cider Company is looking for a Material Handler to assist with day-to-day warehouse operations at our Cidery located in Middlebury, VT and our Warehouse located in Brandon, VT. Responsibilities include but not limited to the safe and efficient shipping, receiving and storage raw materials and finished goods. This role will collaborate with the production team to ensure daily production material needs are met.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Operate forklift to move finished goods, daily production materials and to load and unload trucks
Coordinate inbound / outbound shipments to & from Exchange Street
Receiving and processing incoming goods and materials in accordance with approved policies and procedures
Complete all required paperwork and records including but not limited to inventory sheets, Bills of Lading, Invoices, and transfer documentation
Deliver UPS, FedEx, USPS packages to internal personnel.
Assist with inventory counts
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Forklift experience preferred. Forklift Certified (Certification available through the company)
Experience in a manufacturing environment desired

Description:
Vermont Cider Company is seeking a Production/Sanitation Technician to join our weekend shift team. This position will be responsible for the sanitary cleaning of manufacturing equipment as well as the overall housekeeping of the production facility. This position will also provide support to the production line as assigned.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Disassembly and reassembly of production equipment for cleaning
Perform CIP on beverage processing equipment (filters, hoses, fillers, etc)
Comply with all Sanitation SOP’s
Perform general housekeeping and custodial work (trash removal etc)
Provide support to the production line as assigned
Comply with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety and GMP regulations
Comply with all safety and GMP requirements
Obtain forklift certification
Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Must possess basic math and English skills.
Must be comfortable with computers.
Previous machine operator or CIP experience would be a plus.
Must be able to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with equipment accordingly.
Must be able to learn and display a good understanding of the sanitation process and perform such tasks with minimal supervision within 90 days.
Previous forklift experience is desired.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs routinely. Frequent bending to manipulate valves or hook up hoses. Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Must be comfortable wearing proper protective equipment while using chemicals.
Work Environment: This position will be exposed to mostly manufacturing areas. Exposure to cleaning and production line CIP chemicals is routine. Proper PPE such as ear plugs, eye wear and safety shoes are required. Additional PPE is required when using chemicals etc.
Cellar Operator - 2nd shift

Schedule: Monday - Thursday 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
Disassembly and reassembly of Cellar equipment for purposes of cleaning and sanitizing using both COP and CIP procedures
Build fermentation and product blends by interpreting recipe sheets and adding appropriate ingredients
Deliver analytical samples to Quality Control for analysis
Perform environmental cleaning in fermentation and blend tank areas
Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment as it pertains to Cellar operations
Perform general repairs of equipment as directed by the Cellar Manager
Comply with all safety requirements

The Production Operator is responsible for the production of the company's products within prescribed specifications and efficient machine operation. Daily responsibilities include setting up and operating production machines each day according to established procedures, minimizing waste, inspecting equipment and product, maintaining an adequate supply of operating materials for production, maintaining tools and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner.

Operate production machines to make boxes and package Cider in accordance with established standards and guidelines
Manipulate controls in an efficient manner to minimize waste
Inspect produced Cider for faultiness and report flaws immediately to supervisor
Set up production machines each day according to established procedures
Detect and report machine malfunctions promptly to supervisor
Maintain an adequate supply of operating materials and obtain additional materials according to procedures
Maintain tools and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner
Document production activity each day as assigned and assist with daily Raw Material counts
Package and transport produced Cider as needed
Notify management concerning the need for major repairs when needed
Comply with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety and GMP regulations.
