 Government Contracting, Selling to Government

Have you ever bid on a federally funded contract that listed a prevailing wage?

Have you had a prime contractor or a federal agency request you submit a certified payroll in relation to a project?

The 1931 Davis Bacon Act requires contractors to pay a prevailing wage to all workers performing labor on federally funded projects. The law was designed to protect workers from lower wages in relation to low bid public works contracts. To track a company's practices on Davis Bacon Jobs, the certified payroll process is employed to ensure prevailing wage requirements are being met. Failure to comply with Davis Bacon can result in hefty fines or worse!

We invite you to join the Vermont APEX Accelerator (formerly VT PTAC) for this introductory level primer on Davis-Bacon Act and Certified Payroll designed for those who are new to this requirement.

 Presenter: Elizabeth Adams
