Bill Townsend graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1989 with a BS in Mathematics. He served twelve years in the US Navy as an aircraft carrier-based F-14 pilot and earned an MBA from the University of West Florida in 2000. He is currently the managing partner of Remora, LLC and the general manager of Vermont Industrial Parks, LLC – two commercial real estate investment companies with a combined portfolio of nine commercial properties (manufacturing, office, and retail). There are seven in Middlebury, one in Vergennes, and one in South Burlington, with approximately forty commercial tenants in total. Bill has served on the finance committee of the Porter Hospital Board for most of his ten years on that board, including a two-year term as chair, and another one year term as interim chair. He also serves on the UVM Health Network board and is on their finance committee.
