Cyber attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated and frequent, with a reported 4,000 attacks on small businesses every day. Manufacturers must take actions to guard against IT security risks. Those manufacturers in defense supply chains, either an OEM or tiered supplier, must comply with DFARS cybersecurity requirements as defined in the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-171. Compliance to the DFARS cybersecurity clause requires having a System Security Plan, an Assessment report, and a Plan of Action with Milestones to address gaps. This requirement went into effect December 31, 2017. This seminar can help you achieve and maintain compliance. The first step toward compliance is an assessment of your current IT environment.
This FREE informational seminar will focus on how to get started with a technical assessment of your IT environment against the NIST SP 800-171 controls. This will include a demonstration of specific tools, scanners, and techniques you can use to check these requirements in your IT environment.
Information on ways that manufacturers can complete a full system security assessment, such as self-assessment handbooks and online tools, will also be provided.
