If you take a walk through the woods in Panton, Vermont, you will likely come across the remains of many tree-houses and wooden forts. These are evidence of Ben Raphael's earliest handiwork, built from whatever lumber he could salvage from his Dad's myriad of home-improvement projects. After graduating Cum Laude from Colby College, in Maine, Ben apprenticed with two skilled carpenters before setting off on his own. In 2009, he founded Wooden Hammer, focussing on custom woodwork and carpentry. Our woodshop, nestled in Vermont's Champlain Valley, remains small by design. We want to focus on the details of each cabinet we build, each table we fashion, not the details of assembly-line construction or bulk distribution. When you work with us (us meaning Ben and his assistant) you will be communicating with the actual craftsman from first contact until your project is complete. Simply put, we like working with wood and we like getting creative with wood.
