Shacksbury is looking for a full-time packaging assistant with previous brewery packaging experience. Packaging team members cross-train on all production line activities and processes. Forklift experience/certification is a plus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Hours for this position are somewhat variable. Sometimes everything runs perfectly and everyone goes home early, sometimes we hit a snag and the team needs to stay to finish out the tank. Looking for a born tinkerer who can roll with the punches and enjoys working with a team.

● Start up / Close out canning line
● Operate packing equipment including filler, depal, conveyance, labeler, etc.
● Basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment
● Some reporting and record keeping
● Forklift operation / material handling
● Availability for occasional evening or weekend work

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
● Punctual and reliable
● Excellent communication skills
● Work calmly under pressure
● Willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
● Comfort with email, Slack, and Google Suite
● Mechanical aptitude / comfort with simple machines

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand and/or sit for long periods of time and walk; use fingers, handle, or feel objects; reach with hands; talk and hear; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, twist, bend and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift or carry up to 60 pounds and manipulate and/or move up to 155 pounds. Use of arms above the shoulder is sometimes required. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Requires manual dexterity and ability to quickly move hand(s), hand with arm, grasp, manipulate or assemble. The employee operates a motor vehicle/forklift.

WORKING CONDITIONS
● The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Employees must wear PPE ear and eye protection at certain times, as directed.
