Bob Feuerstein lives in Ferrisburg, VT, and is currently President of Kennedy Bros., Inc. a multi-tenant office building in Vergennes. He and his wife purchased it in 2012 and have renovated the entire old dairy factory building. Kennedy Bros. was Business of the Year for Addison County in 2017. Bob is also on the board for the Addison County Chamber of Commerce.
He received his Ph.D. in Electrophysics from Polytechnic University (now NYU), Brooklyn, NY in 1990. He then joined the NSF funded Optoelectronic Computing Systems Center at the University of Colorado as an Asst. Res. Prof. There he researched optical computing, optical communications and helped build the world’s first stored-program fiber-optic computer. He taught classics in optoelectronics and optical communications. He served as President of the local section of the Lasers and Electro-Optics Society: 1994-1995. He worked in congress for one year after receiving an appointment as the IEEE Congressional Science and Engineering Fellow (1998), working in the office of Senator Alfonse D'Amato.
After this, he joined Level 3 Communications as a Senior Architect. He supported Level 3’s customers and internal optical network design requirements. Then he was the Principal Architect for Transport Systems for BT starting in 2008. He has spoken at dozens of technical and corporate meetings and authored more than 20 publications. He has presented to dozens of corporate and government clients on optical network architecture and design.
And he loves to sail on Lake Champlain in his 26 foot Pearson.
