Recently, a business owner had to reschedule a meeting because the whole office was attending the funeral of a colleague's parent. We talked about the impact of grief on that employee and his colleagues, especially in a small, tight-knit operation. Our conversation caused me to recall when I lost three relatives in quick succession and how my colleagues reacted to my grief.
