Working Lands grants story in BFP
'Working lands' grants aim to keep Vermont land Vermont-like
First round of state 'working lands' grants given to projects ranging from Vermont drink company to slaughtering goats
Legislators approved the program last year, and in November the Agency of Agriculture, Food, & Markets announced the availability of $986,500 for the “working lands” program. The program received 191 applicants seeking a total of $2.1 million in grants for projects ranging from slaughtering goats to drying timber.
Of those applicants, 20 were approved and announced Thursday. More grants will be announced in June.
