Women's Economic Opportunity Conference announced

SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, October 19, 2013

Please mark your calendars for the 17th Annual Women's Economic Opportunity Conference, to be held on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the Vermont Technical College in Randolph Center.

Marcelle and I are delighted to announce that this year's conference will feature Patty Stonesifer as the keynote speaker.  Ms. Stonesifer is the founding CEO of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and now serves as President and CEO of Martha's Table, a nonprofit organization committed to breaking the cycle of poverty in the Nation's Capital.  Her down-to-earth nature and compelling life story (as highlighted in this recent New York Times column) are sure to engage and enthrall her audience, just as our keynote speakers have done in the past.

Every year, this day-long conference draws hundreds of Vermonters for workshops and discussion groups that provide important tools to support women at all stages of professional and personal development.  With nearly two dozen workshops on the day's agenda, this year's offerings will appeal to a wide range of interests, with a particular focus on developing critical social media skills.

In the interest of making the conference accessible to all, there is no charge for registration or for pre-arranged child care.  You will receive more details on workshops and registration in coming weeks -- but for now, please save the date.

Marcelle and I hope to see you on October 19!
