VT Gas New Mobile Home Initiative
VT Gas Introduces New Mobile Home Initiative to Help Homeowners Save Money & Stay Warm
Program will provide weatherization & significant improvements to mobile home energy efficiency
Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) member Vermont Gas is now making it easier for homeowners in mobile home communities to save money and reduce their energy needs. Vermont Gas’ new Mobile Home Pilot Program is designed to identify and repair leaky air ducts and upgrade insulation in the roof and floor of mobile homes. Older homes can be particularly inefficient and drafty, reducing winter comfort and leading to increased costs for families. With Vermont Gas’ help, these homes can see 20% savings on their energy bills.
In addition to expert energy advice, the Vermont Gas Mobile Home Pilot Program offers several financial incentives to help mobile homeowners pay for the cost of upgrades including rebates of up to 75% for duct sealing, and roof and belly insulation. Those who qualify as low-income will receive these measures at no cost. Vermont Gas also provides rebates on energy efficient appliances and more.
Vermont Gas’ efficiency programs are nationally recognized and save customers more than $10 million annually. And natural gas is currently 19% less expensive than heating oil and 57% cheaper than propane. Learn more about free energy audits, by visiting vermontgas.com/freeaudit.
