VT Forest Industry Network Launched
At the recent First Annual VT Forest Industry Summit, more than 150 people from across Vermont’s forest & wood products sector attended and launched the Vermont Forest Industry Network (VFIN). Vermont's working landscapes are of great value to the state. VFIN's mission is to advance new and existing markets for VT forest & wood products.
This Summit was was attended by landowners, foresters, loggers, truckers, mill owners, wood product manufacturers as well as business consultants, trade organizations, & financial lenders who all want to see this sector succeed.
The Summit addressed various issues facing the VT forest & wood products industry. There were presentations about improving the bottom line and new global trends in wood. Addressing these and other topics will be the focus of the new VT Forest Industry Network.
Vermont’s forest & wood products industry is as old as the state itself, but it still needs to be nurtured and challenged to continually innovate and improve. The Summit sparked many worthwhile ideas that the VFIN will explore.
