VCET Announces Female Founder Speakers Series
Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) member the Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (VCET) recently announced the Female Founder Speakers Series. This 6-month series will present one event per month, from January to June, 2017. Each event will feature two exceptional speakers from a unique industry, refreshments and networking opportunities.
Celebrating female entrepreneurs from around the state, the series aims to share what it takes to start a company from the ground up. Each speaker will share the story of their business, including what it took to get started, lessons learned, and where they hope to go in the future. There will also be plenty of time for Q&A.
The first event of the Female Founders Speaker Series, “Wellness Working”, kicks off Monday, January 23rd from 5:30-7 pm featuring Sarah DeGray of Rev Indoor Cycling, and Jovial King of Urban Moonshine. The first in the Female Founder Speakers Series Wellness Working will be held in Juniper Hall at the Hotel Vermont, 41 Cherry Street in downtown Burlington, VT. All are welcome.
The cost of the event is $15 per person, per event, and 100% of proceeds benefit a local charity or nonprofit. All are welcome, but tickets are limited so interested parties are encouraged to act fast. January’s event, which highlights Vermont’s thriving wellness industry, will benefit Vermont Adaptive Ski & Sports, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that empowers all athletes with disabilities year-round throughout the State of Vermont.
Accelerating innovation and entrepreneurship, the non-profit Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (VCET) provides expert business mentoring, technology professional networking, three coworking and accelerator facilities in Middlebury and Burlington, innovation programs, and early stage venture capital. VCET manages the Vermont Seed Capital Fund, LP, a revolving $5 million venture capital investment fund. In 2013, VCET was named #11 globally and #5 in the US by the UBI Index.
