Two ACEDC Town Members Secure VTrans Grants
Funding from VTrans FY18 Municipal Highway & Stormwater Mitigation Program
The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) awarded Municipal Highway & Stormwater Mitigation Program grant funding to Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) member towns, Bridport and Shoreham. This grant program provides infrastructure improvements to enhance the quality of state water systems. Fund amounts and purposes are as follows:
- The Town of Bridport was awarded over $300,000 (which was matched with over $80,000 locally for a total project cost of over $400,000) for the design & construction of a concrete box culvert on Basin Harbor Road
- The Town of Shoreham was awarded over $200,000 (which was matched with over $70,000 locally for a total project cost of over $300,000) for the design & construction of a concrete box culvert on Buttolph Road
VTrans has awarded nearly $6 million in these federal and state funds to assist VT municipalities in their mitigation efforts through this grant program. A total of 18 projects throughout the state are being funded to help with a range of transportation issues that affect water quality. Combined with local funds, these projects are valued at over $7.3 million. All projects are a combination of 80% federal or state funding and 20% local funding. There will be another opportunity to apply for funding through this program in the summer of 2018. Click here for more info.
