Town of Bristol Receives USDA-RD Infrastructure Loans

Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) member the Town of Bristol was recently awarded over $1 million in U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development (RD) loans for two infrastructure improvement projects. The funding for these loans is through the USDA’s Water & Environmental Program to improve water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure. The two projects are: 

  • $325,000 loan for storm water drainage improvements and system enhancements.
  • $756,000 loan to improve water mains in the town and a water main extension to serve Woodland Apartments.

The United State Department of Agriculture (USDA), through its Rural Development mission area, administers and manages housing, business and community infrastructure programs through a national network of state and local offices. Rural Development has an active portfolio of $214 billion in loans and loan guarantees. These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of rural communities, businesses, residents, farmers and ranchers and improve the quality of life in rural areas.
