Town of Bristol Awarded Community Development Grant
Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin and Patricia Moulton, Secretary of the Agency of Commerce & Community Development (ACCD), announced $2.8 million in Community Development grants designed to continue the state’s partnership with municipalities to create housing and jobs while strengthening downtowns and village centers.
The Town of Bristol was awarded a $25,000 grant to create a development and marketing plan for a potential business/industrial area on Stony Hill. The state awards the competitive grants through ACCD’s Department of Housing and Community Development.
Also present for the announcement were representatives of Senator Patrick Leahy, Senator Bernie Sanders and Congressman Peter Welch. Each member of the congressional delegation has played a key role in securing the funding that makes the program possible. The grants are funded through the federal Community Development Block Grant Program of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
