Discounted Energy Audits for Addison County
Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) member Efficiency Vermont offers rebates for energy improvements up to $2500. Energy audits can help identify ways to improve energy efficiency in homes or businesses. The HEAT Squad program is offering Addison County homeowners half off the cost of an energy audit between February 14-28, 2017.
A new energy auditor was recently hired for this region so there is a February promotion for Addison County homeowners to help get the word out. Homeowners in Addison County who call between Feb 14th – 28th to schedule their energy audit will get a half price audit (only $75) and they will receive a comprehensive energy audit report recommending which weatherization upgrades will deliver the best “bang for the buck,” along with information about the $2,500 in available rebates from Efficiency Vermont.
The HEAT Squad helps homeowners and business owners to save money on their energy bills and have a more comfortable and healthy building by offering low-cost energy audits, objective advice through the entire process, referrals to trusted contractors, and access to available financing. The Heat Squad program does not do any weatherization work directly, but aims to help homeowners navigate the often confusing process of weatherization (including recommending vetted, reliable contractors to complete any project). Neighborwoords of Western Vermont also has an in-house energy loan (unsecured 0% to 4.99% based on income and term) to help homeowners afford the upgrades they want to make on their home or business.
Addison County employers who wish to share this information with their employees can contact the HEAT Squad. They offer “Employee Energy Efficiency Presentations” where employees can attend a 30 minute presentation about energy efficiency and weatherization, ask questions, and sign up for a discounted energy audit.
