Bram Kleppener receives the VBSR award
To say Bram Kleppner is a staple of the community would be an understatement. Bram worked for Ben & Jerry's for ten years, where he worked in international marketing and business development. During his time there, he helped spearhead Ben & Jerry's first anti-global warming campaign.
Since taking over as CEO at Danforth eight years ago, he has grown Danforth to be the first 100% solar-powered pewter workshop, started a company-wide profit-sharing initiative, paid parental leave, and paid time off for community service. He is aiming to bring Danforth's fossil fuel use to zero and raise hourly wages.
Bram is active in the community where he is on the Board of Directors for the Population Media Center, advocates internationally for women’s rights and environmental conservation. He is also part of Change The Story’s Champions for Change, which supports gender equity.
“Bram is a committed and practiced champion for public policies and business practices that protect the environment and our workers”, said Daniel Barlow, Public Policy Manager at VBSR, “Again and again throughout his career, Bram has found great business success by leading on the issues most critical to our community, such as climate change and gender equity.”
