Biz Partners Needed for VT YouthWorks Program
VT YouthWorks is seeking local business partners to be involved in their new workforce development program for Addison County youth aged 18 – 24. Their mission is to help these youth become well-educated, skilled and self-sufficient community members with a sustainable career pathway. VT YouthWorks is an innovative model for career readiness training because it delivers basic academic education, workforce soft-skills and technical training in a coordinated, contextualized format that increases retention and engagement. A crucial part of the program is to provide these students with on-the-job training. VT YouthWorks Business Partners will be asked to provide several 2-day job shadow opportunities as well as a 4-week internship. The cost of wages, insurance, benefits and liability will be covered by the VT Department of Labor and there would be no obligation to hire the intern.
