ACEDC Members Awarded 2018 VT Worksite Wellness Awards

Two members of the Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) are being honored with VT Worksite Wellness Awards. 2018 Vermont Governor’s Award for Excellence in Worksite Wellness will be presented to:

This annual award recognizes VT employers’ efforts to enhance productivity, bolster a healthy environment and improve the lives of VT citizens. The awards provide an opportunity for the governor and health commissioner to thank businesses and organizations for their efforts to support a healthy Vermont workforce. These efforts help keep health care costs down, improve productivity and make Vermont a great place to live and work. This year’s recipients from 81 worksites around the state include manufacturers, banks, utilities, municipalities, nonprofit organizations, engineering companies, medical offices and retailers.

On Wednesday, March 21, business owners, CEOs, company presidents and human resources directors from these winning organizations will receive their awards for their onsite efforts to promote physical fitness and a healthy work-life balance. Awards will be presented during a ceremony at the DoubleTree by Hilton, 870 Williston Road in Burlington from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m in conjunction with the annual Worksite Wellness Conference. The Vermont Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports is a physical activity promotion and advocacy group comprised of volunteers appointed by the governor and representing a broad spectrum of Vermonters. The council’s mission, defined in the legislation passed in 1986, is to promote health and wellness through physical activity for all people living in Vermont at all fitness and ability levels.
