ACEDC Members 2017 Working Lands Grant Awardees
The VT Working Lands Enterprise Initiative invests in farm & forest companies who are ready to grow the state's economy. Two Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC) members were recently Business Investment awardees:
• Vermont Farm Table (Bristol) was awarded $50,000 for a commercial development plan
• Maple Landmark Woodcraft (Middlebury) was awarded $40,000 for an automated wood-turning lathe
VT Governor Phil Scott, along with Agriculture, Food & Markets Secretary Anson Tebbetts, Deputy Commerce & Community Development (ACCD) Secretary Ted Brady, Forests, Parks & Recreation Commissioner Michael Snyder, and the Working Lands Enterprise Board recently awarded $680,000 in grants to 19 agriculture & forest sector businesses and service providers. This year, ACEDC members were among the Working Lands Enterprise Fund's 87 applications totaling $2.7 million in requests for $680,000 in available funds. The Working Lands Enterprise Initiative has distributed over $3.8 million in grants since its inception in 2012, leading to an additional 428 jobs and $18.1 million in sales.
