ACEDC Member Completes SBA Emerging Leaders Program
VT Small Business Owners Complete 7-Month Executive Course
Sas Stewart of Stonecutter Spirits, a member of the Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC), was among the 20 VT small business owners who recently concluded the 2018 Emerging Leaders Program, an executive education course of the U.S. Small Business Adminstration (SBA). Sas also serves on the ACEDC Board of Directors.
Emerging Leaders is a free program sponsored by the SBA. The program includes approximately 100 hours of classroom time, connects small business owners with a network of industry experts & peers, and supports the creation of a 3-year strategic growth action plan.
To qualify small business owners must have annual revenues of $400,000 or more, been in business for at least three years, and have employees. The majority of the small business owners in the VT class had annual sales in excess of $800,000. A variety of companies were represented in the class including a brewery, excavating company, textile manufacturer and a pharmacy.
Since its inception in 2008, Emerging Leaders has trained more than 5,000 small business owners throughout the U.S., creating more than 6,500 jobs, generating more than $300 million in new financing, and securing more than $3.16 billion in government contracts.
